As we sit down for lunch Thursday March 10 the CDH boys hockey team will be taking on Prior lake in the quarterfinal round of the Big School Minnesota State High school Hockey tournament. CDH most recently won the State Crown in 2006 when the young man pictured below with the Stanley Cup was a junior defenseman on the CDH team. Two time Stanley Cup winner Ryan McDonagh brought the Stanley Cup back to CDH last August and as I understand spent considerable time with both the boy’s and girl’s hockey teams at CDH. CDH is the second seed in the tournament with only perennial contender Hill Murray seeded higher. These two teams are in separate brackets and if both win would face each other in the Championship final. GOOD LUCK TO THE CDH GUYS, especially our classmate Dave Odlaug’s grandson Kevin.
