The Cretin Class of 1963 held two special events in August – the annual golf outing in memory of classmate and avid golfer Charlie Schuldt on August 13, followed by a luncheon to celebrate every classmates 80th birthday on August 14, 2025 at the Pool and Yacht Club in Lilydale, Minnesota.

Golfers Don Danneker, Ray Diprima, Terry Bacigalupo, Jim McCormick, Dave Britz, Jim Dimond, Roger Neils, Mike Swenson, Tom Troskey, Bob O’Mallery, Joe Schufman, and Gary Stoffel were blessed with near perfect weather as they teed off at Highland National Golf Course at 10 a.m. The course was in great shape and the winning foursome of Bob O’Malley, Don Danniker, Ray Diprima, and Joe Schufman won the event with a score of 4-under par. A fun time was had by all.

We began the lunch by offering a moment of silence for our deceased classmates and those classmates with health/mobility issues who were unable to be there with us.
Rob Bollinger has been extremely supportive of our class. He and his staff helped us with the 60th reunion activities, (both in planning and communications). Rob worked with us to ensure that our 40th class reunion endowment was being managed consistent with our original intent, and guided us through the process to establish the Bonfe-Ryan scholarship to benefit a student with physical challenges (click here to see more about our classmates who inspired the scholarship) . He set up lunch meetings at CDH so members of our class could meet the recipients of our scholarships.
Rob also made annual treks to California, Arizonia, Texas, and Florida to visit Cretin and CDH alumni, including some from our class.
For his work on our behalf we awarded Rob an Honorary Diploma as a graduate of the Cretin Class of 1963. Terry Bacigalupo presented the award to Rob. Rob was both surprised and delighted.

Pat McDonald took the floor to recognize Tom Troskey for his leadership in working with our class over the years. He presented Tom with a framed Cretin Letter with a citation that he is the leader of our class. It drew a standing ovation.

Rob Bollinger was brought back up to present a very special class special award – The Cretin Class of 1963 Spirit Award to Tom Troskey. This, too, drew a standing ovation. The crystal award memorializes Tom’s outstanding efforts on our behalf and was accompanied by a gift certificate for dinner at The Lexington for Tom and his wife Linda.

Tom Troskey addressed the group to thank us for the recognition but more importantly to remind us that our class remains together because of what we all contribute to staying in touch.
To end the remarks prior to lunch, Terry Bacigalupo took the floor to share a message to the attendees from our classmate Gen. (retired) Tom Schwartz. Tom was unable to attend because of previous commitments. His wished he had been able to join us and sent his best regards to all of us.
It was a great event and was enjoyed by all.
