The challenges we are now facing globally from fighting Covid-19 have brought new attention to the bravery and dedication of people serving as police officers, firefighters, paramedics, emergency room and intensive care workers, doctors, nurses, respiratory care specialists, orderlies, workers at long term care facilities and all who work to serve those with diseases and injuries. These first responders and health care workers now dealing with Covid-19 are getting the appreciation of virtually all of us for their outstanding service to help, protect and heal others often at personal risk and sacrifice. Yet, when we think of those first responders and health care professionals who preceded them, we see that they also have dealt with life and death, sickness and health, dedication and sacrifice, tragedy and success. We would like to acknowledge our classmates with careers as first responders and health care workers for their dedicated and brave service to the rest of us. Even though they didn’t need to address the specific threat of Covid-19, they had other diseases, both physical and mental, to deal with and put their lives and health at risk in serving, protecting, rescuing and healing us and saving our property.
We have identified the following Cretin Class of 1963 classmates to thank for their service to the rest of us as first responders and health care workers. We appreciate all that they have done in service to the general good! Please reply with the names and area of work for any we missed.
